7 other uses for lip balm

Lip balm is great for more than just your lips. From moisturizing other areas to polishing your shoes. Here are 7 other uses for lip balm.

1. Nose irritation

A runny nose can lead to irritation from frequent blowing and tissue-wiping. When the skin around your nose gets dry, wash your hands, swipe lip balm on your fingers, and apply it to your nose.

It's best to use unscented lip balm which will provide immediate relief.

2. Dry hands

Dry hands and cracked cuticles can be painful. If you don't have hand lotion, you can use lip balm as a substitute. Apply it to the dry areas and by doing this to your cuticles, you'll prevent hangnails.

3. Stuck rings

If your ring gets stuck on your finger, don't panic. An easy solution is to swipe lip balm on your finger then move the ring back and forth. This will make it seamless to remove the ring.

4. Remove excess mascara

While you apply mascara, you might get some on your eyelid or other places. The best way to clean up the excess mascara is to apply lip balm on a cotton swab and clean up the areas that shouldn't have mascara.

This also works for mascara smudges that can occur throughout the day.

5. Small cuts

Small cuts or nicks while shaving can be painful. To stop the bleeding and pain, swipe lip balm on the affected areas.

Note: This is not a substitute for bandaids.

6. Shoe polish

If you don't have shoe polish or need a quick-fix, lip balm is the answer. Applying lip balm to your shoes can soften the leather and polish your shoes quickly.

One thing to keep in mind is to make sure you don't use the same tube for your lips.

7. Flyaway hairs

If you have flyaway or static hairs, swipe lip balm on your fingers and smoothen it out. Don't use too much because it can cause your hair to look greasy.

You can also use it as a substitute for eyebrow gel. Use lip balm to keep your eyebrows styled and in place.

Bottom line

Aside from hydrating your lips, you can use lip balm to help you in other areas of your life. From healing small cuts to keeping your hairs in place, lip balm is a versatile and helpful item to have.
